Le nouvel entraineur de l’équipe nationale du Burkina Faso Hubert Velud est un international français ayant évolué au poste de gardien de but. Il effectue toute sa carrière professionnelle de joueur au sein du Stade de Reims. Durant sa carrière professionnelle, il était surnommé “Le Chat” par les supporters rémois. En tant qu’entraîneur, il est champion de France de National en 2002 avec le Clermont Foot Auvergne et permet donc au club d’accéder pour la première fois de son histoire à la Ligue 2 et de devenir professionnel. Il entraîne ensuite durant 3 années le club en Ligue 2.
Le successeur de Kamou Malo est passé par plusieurs équipe en Europe et en Afrique. Wikipedia note qu’Il est par ailleurs à l’origine de l’éclosion de jeunes talents comme Stéphane Sessègnon ou David Amadou M’Bodji.
Hubert velud a entrainé une vingtaine d’équipe à son actif dont le TP Mazimbé, le soudan, le JS Kabylie, l’ES Sétif, l’USM Alger, le Togo, Paris FC, stade tunisien, le Koweit SC et l’Hassania d’agadir. Il fut le premier technicien étranger à glaner 2 titres de champions d’affilée avec 2 clubs différents.
Hubert Velud a été élu pour la deux fois meilleur entraîneur de la Ligue 1 algérienne en mai 2014. L’entraineur français a aussi gagné le championnat congolais en 2015/16. Avec le Tout Puissant Mazembe Hubert Velud remporte la Coupe de la Confédération africaine (Coupe de la CAF).
